Here you will find the answer to frequently asked questions about the gift certificate module.
Go to Configuration > Modules > Gift Cards
Set the setting "Use full amount first time" to "no".
The gift card can now be used for multiple payments and the balance will be updated after each use.
Note: If the inheritance checkbox is enabled, disable it before saving.
You can set the reusability of a gift card when creating an individual card or a series of gift cards. See this page for instructions.
Once you have configured the gift card to be reusable, you can distribute it to customers yourself, either by email or using physical cards.
When you create a gift card, it is automatically assigned a randomly generated code. This is configured in the gift card type to prevent multiple gift cards from having the same code.
It is not possible to assign a recognizable or catchy name as the code during creation. However, it is possible to change the code afterwards.
To do this, go to Modules > Manage Gift Cards. Click on the gift card you want to edit. It will open in a new window. Then click on the current code: you can now manually change it to a desired code, such as Summer20 for a gift card valid in the summer that offers a 20% discount.
Note: all other settings of the gift card remain unchanged.
