How does a customer exchange a gift certificate?
A gift card is typically purchased by a customer and given to a contact of that customer. The contact is the one who redeems the gift card. This can be done either by the contact themselves via the customer screens, or by phone. In the latter case, the gift card is entered via the admin panel.

During the reservation dialog, the option to enter the gift card is available on the confirmation page.
Redeeming via customer pages – After making a reservation
If the reservation has already been made and a gift card still needs to be entered later, this can be done via the gift card entry screen.
Tip: The technical link can be included in an email, allowing the customer to be invited to enter the gift card. The link is structured as follows: https://YOURDOMAIN.i-reserve.net/front.php?mod=Giftentry. If you send the link from an email via i-Reserve, you can add the reservation directly by appending "&booknumber={BOOKING_NUMBER}" to the link.
