Configuratie - Objecten - Beheer arrangementen

Almost every implementation begins with setting up one or more products/objects.
For many users, that is sufficient. However, there are situations where it is desirable to allow combinations of objects to be booked together.
We then refer to these as arrangements. An arrangement is therefore a combination of objects that together form a reservation.

An Example for Clarification

A company called "Fun-Company-Event (FCE)" offers activities including Mini Golf (O1), Paintball (O2), and Foot Volleyball (O3).
Three objects have been configured for these, each with its own characteristics. Each object can be booked separately.
Now, it often happens that customers of FCE want to book multiple activities. As a result, FCE sees many separate reservations coming in and wants to improve that process.
FCE chooses to create an arrangement called "Company Event (C1)." The three previously mentioned objects are linked to this arrangement.

What does a reservation look like for an arrangement where Mini Golf and Paintball are booked?

Reservation Number Object / Arrangement Date Start End Price
Shopping Cart = Yes
Price
Shopping Cart = No
1001 C1 10 January 14:00 18:00 € 25 € 19.95
1002 O1 10 January 14:00 15:30 € 10 N/A
1003 O2 10 January 16:00 18:00 € 15 N/A

This example shows that booking two activities results in three reservations: one for the arrangement and two for the objects. The arrangement runs from 14:00 to 18:00 and represents the sum of the parts.

Settings / Characteristics

Most settings/characteristics are configured at the object level. An arrangement is “just” a container to which the objects are linked.
However, there are some specific characteristics at the arrangement level.
The most important is the distinction in the type or arrangement mode. There are two options (Shopping Cart Yes/No).
In both cases, availability is determined per object.

  1. Shopping Cart (Yes)
The arrangement is the sum of its parts. In the case of a shopping cart, various objects can be added to the cart.
The price is calculated as the sum of all objects.
  2. Combination (Shopping Cart = No)
The arrangement contains a number of predefined objects as options.
In this case, the price is determined at the arrangement level.

Required basic knowledge: the ability to configure objects and/or adjust object settings.
