Configuration - Objects - Admin Products

The calendar is a very important component within i-Reserve: it indicates the periods in which customers can and cannot book. Opening times, prices schemes and any available discount schemes all come together in the calendar.

Step-by-step plan for amending and/or adding a calendar:

  • Click on Configuration, in the dropdown under the username.
  • Next, click in the menu on Objects - Manage products.
  • Select the product for which the calendar will be amended or set up, by clicking on the Product ID (number) .
  • Click, in the top right of the page, on Views and choose the Object - Scheme view.
  • The 'Calendar' block will appear.
  • Placing the mouse pointer on the row of the sample calendar allows the 'amend' icon to appear. Clicking on the icon will open the 'Amend calendar' menu, and the information can be edited.
  • Place the mouse pointer on the dark grey row of the 'Calendar' block and click on the round icon with the plus sign to add a new calendar.

Here follows a description of the various fields:

  • Calendar description - calendar name. Tip: ensure the description of the calendar makes it clear for which period the calendar has been set up.
  • Date from - the date on which the calendar should be active, and on which bookings can be made.
  • Date to - the date up to which the calendar should be active, and bookings can be made.
  • Prices scheme - select here a prices scheme. If no price scheme is selected, no booking can be made on the customer page.
  • Opening times - select here a scheme for opening times. If no scheme is selected, no booking can be made on the customer page.
  • Discount scheme - if available, select here a discount scheme.
  • Calendar price - it is possible to refer to this price from within the prices scheme.
  • Calendar currency - shows the currency setting.

Using the calendar, it is possible to configure a closed day or to specify another price for a particular period. For example, it is possible to use differing prices or differing opening times for various data. See the examples below:

Examples

Configuring a day with different opening times and another price.
If other opening times and prices are used for 27 April, that results in three calendars. One each for the periods before and after 27 April. The first calendar runs from 1 January through 26 April. The second calendar runs from 28 April through 31 December. Another prices scheme and differing opening times can now be selected for the calendar for 27 April. Take note: these must first be created through the 'Opening times' block and that of 'Prices scheme'.

Configuring a closed day, on which no booking can be made, for a single product.
Go to the product for which the closed day is to be configure, through Objects - Manage Products and click on the Product ID. Select the Object - Scheme view. Go to the 'Calendar'block and create two calendars. We'll take 5 December as an example. Two calendars result: one which runs from 1 October through 4 December and one from 6 December through 30 January. Since no calendar has been configured for 5 December, it is not possible for customers to book on that day.

Configuring a holiday/day off on which no booking can be made.
If it should be decided to close on 25 December, go to configuration (in the user profile menu) and click in the menu on Configuration - Holidays. Next, click in the top right of the screen on +New holiday and select the date 25 December. Write in the description Christmas Day, for example, and click on Save. Customers can no longer book on this day. This applies to all products.
