Setting up the Zapier connection: steps in i-Reserve and Zapier
For an i-Reserve Zap you need a one-time connection to your i-Reserve environment. That connection uses an OAuth client and a connection user. The steps below set that up and then create the first Zap.
1. In i-Reserve: OAuth client + connection user
- Go to Configuration → System → OAuth clients and create a client. Use for example
zapieras the Client ID and generate a strong secret (set per environment). Note both. See Setting OAuth Clients. - Go to Configuration → System → Users and create a connection user with the correct rights via a user group.
2. In Zapier: new Zap and connection
- Create a new Zap in Zapier and choose i-Reserve as the trigger, for example.
- A new connection is made. Requested fields: Endpoint URL, Client ID and Client Secret.
- For Endpoint, enter the domain of your environment, without
https://and without a path — for exampledemo.i-reserve.net. - For Client ID and Client Secret, enter the values from step 1.
- Click Yes, continue, log in and click the green Allow button.
- The connection is now made and can be reused in all your Zaps.
3. Finish the Zap
Choose the desired trigger and actions, map the fields and test the Zap with a real event. Then turn the Zap on.
A worked example is on Example: Mailchimp newsletter.
