Setup domain name
By default, i-Reserve is delivered via a specifically assigned URL, whether or not you choose it yourself.
This could be https://YOURDOMAIN.i-reserve.net
In some cases, it may be necessary to work with a different URL.
This could be a subdomain of your own website. For example https://subdomain.YOURDOMAIN.EXT.
This requires a few steps.
This requires a DNS adjustment with your own administrator;
You then choose your own subdomain of a main domain that is already your website.
This must refer via a so-called CNAME to the domain on which i-Reserve is delivered.
subdomain.yourdomain.ext. IN CNAME yourdomain.i-reserve.net.
In this example:
- subdomain.yourdomain.ext.com. is the alias (the subdomain you want to create an alias for).
- IN stands for "Internet" and specifies the DNS class.
- CNAME is the record type (Canonical Name).
- yourdomain.i-reserve.net. is the canonical name, the domain to which it is referred.
Then provide the desired domain name to the i-Reserve support desk. This will then be made available as an alias.
In principle, it is also technically possible to use the main domain name. There are restrictions on this, however, as the way DNS works does not allow a CNAME to be used on the main domain.
Optional
If a certificate (SSL) is available for the desired (sub)domain, it should be sent by e-mail to the support desk.
If this is not available, a Let's Encrypt certificate will be used.
Components are usually three parts
- private key
- certificate
- CA certificate
These should be sent in raw text format. Possibly in zip format.
The private key can also be sent secured.
Please note: send an extension of the certificate no later than 5 working days before expiration.
Er kunnen kosten verbonden zijn aan het instellen van een URL op maat.
Vraag dit na bij de support desk.
