Different statusses for different types of bookings
Whether a distinction should be made between ‘regular’ bookings and ‘on-request’ bookings is defined in the General Configuration (Reservation Settings screen). Here, you also specify whether a distinction should be made between new bookings made from the frontend and new bookings made from the backend.
By default, i-Reserve is configured so that all newly created bookings receive status 10 NEW, regardless of whether the booking is a ‘regular’ booking or an ‘on-request’ booking, and regardless of whether the booking is made from the front- or backend.
In our case, we want to make a distinction between bookings made from the frontend and bookings made from the backend. This means we are going to change the default setting:
- Click Configuration in configuration mode
- Click Configuration booking
- At the bottom of the screen, you will see 4 fields: 2 fields for the status when a booking is created from the frontend and 2 fields for the backend. All fields are set to status 10 by default. For our example, we will modify the 2 fields related to backend bookings and select status 12 New, administrator
- Click the OK button
From now on, bookings created from the backend will be assigned status 12, both ‘regular’ bookings and ‘on-request’ bookings. Bookings created from the frontend will continue to receive the default status 10 in both cases.
