Functional description
Beheer > Integraties > GetYourGuide

The functional core of the GetYourGuide integration is linking participants and prices. GetYourGuide works per participant category, not per “spot”. This article explains the concepts; the technical mapping fields are in “Setting up GetYourGuide”.

Participants are required

A GetYourGuide product always sells per participant category (such as Adult, Child, Student or a Group). So your i-Reserve object must have participants, and each participant is linked to a GetYourGuide category. GetYourGuide has fixed categories, including: ADULT, CHILD, YOUTH, INFANT, SENIOR, STUDENT and GROUP.

  • The integration matches by name: i-Reserve participant “Adult” → GetYourGuide category ADULT.
  • You can set a default category (fallback) for participants without their own link.
  • The number of participants GetYourGuide sends is translated into the number of spots per category on the booking.

The four pricing methods (2×2)

The pricing setup depends on two choices: what the availability looks like and how the price is calculated. Those two axes together give four possible pricing methods:

Availability ↓ / Price →Per person (category)Per group
Time slot (fixed start time)Boat trip, city walk — commonPrivate tour (fixed group price)
Opening hours (attraction/ticket)Museum ticket — possible, but uncommonGroup entry within opening hours
  • Time slot — fixed start times (e.g. 10:00, 11:00, 12:00). This is the logical and most-used form for activities such as boat trips and city walks.
  • Opening hours — availability as a time window (e.g. 09:00–18:00). Fits attraction/museum tickets valid all day. This is possible with the integration, but uncommon for most i-Reserve customers.
  • Per person — a price per participant category (adult, child, …).
  • Per group — one price for the whole group; suitable for private tours.

Per object you decide which availability form applies (time slot or opening hours). For rentals (such as a boat) you can additionally provide a duration that sets the length of a slot.

Extras (add-ons)

Optional extras (e.g. food, drinks, transport) can be linked to a GetYourGuide add-on type, such as FOOD, DRINKS, TRANSPORT or OTHERS.
