How (and when) do I clear my browser cache?
Don't see your i-Reserve changes in the front-end? Your browser is probably showing an old version from its cache (temporarily stored pages and images). Below you'll find how to fix this, per device and browser.
Try this first: a hard reload
A hard reload is usually enough. It reloads the page without using the cached version:
- Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R (or Ctrl + F5)
- Mac: Cmd + Shift + R
Doesn't work? Then clear the full cache using the steps below. In most browsers you can open the dialog directly with Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac).
Windows
Google Chrome
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Tick Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
Microsoft Edge
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Tick Cached images and files.
- Click Clear now.
Mozilla Firefox
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
- Set Time range to clear to Everything.
- Tick Cache.
- Click OK.
Mac
Safari
- Open Safari > Settings and go to the Advanced tab.
- Tick Show features for web developers (Develop menu) at the bottom.
- In the menu bar, choose Develop > Empty Caches, or use the shortcut Cmd + Option + E.
Google Chrome
- Press Cmd + Shift + Delete.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Tick Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
Mozilla Firefox
- Press Cmd + Shift + Delete.
- Set Time range to clear to Everything.
- Tick Cache.
- Click OK.
Mobile
iPhone / iPad (Safari)
- Open the Settings app and tap Apps > Safari (on older versions tap Safari directly).
- Tap Clear History and Website Data and confirm.
Android (Chrome)
- Open Chrome and tap the ⋮ menu in the top right.
- Go to History > Clear browsing data.
- Set Time range to All time, tick Cached images and files and tap Clear data.
After clearing the cache, reload the i-Reserve page; your changes will then be visible.
