How do i add extra (custom) fields to a customer dashboard
In addition to the default fields (name, surname, e-mail address) it is also possible to add custom fields to the customer dashboard. You would use custom fields if you would like to obtain additional information from the customer during the booking process, that is outside of the readily available default customer forms fields. For example, vehicle registration number, trade union name etc. You can display these custom fields in the ‘Customer details’ or the ‘Custom fields customer’ block of the customer dashboard.
To add additional (custom) fields to a customer dashboard, follow the steps below:
- Open the dashboard of a customer, for example by clicking on the last customer shown in the customer menu tab.
- On the dashboard, the ‘Customer details’ block is displayed.
- Hover on the grey titlebar and click on the gears-icon that appears in the top-right of the block.
- In the menu, click on ‘Settings’ to adjust the displayed fields.
- Drag the fields from the column ‘Available fields’ to the column ‘Display field list’ to display them in the ‘Customer details’ block.
- Click on 'Save'.
- The changes are immediately visible.
If the 'Custom fields customer’ block is not displayed on the dashboard, you first need to add it. Once the block has been added, the adjusted fields can be added to the block by following the steps above.
Only customer form fields that have been set as mandatory or optional in the column 'Mandatory (Admin)', will be displayed.
