How do I add rights to a usergroup?
Behind the group is an icon with gears. This indicates whether and how many rights have been added to the usergroup. Clicking on this icon gives you the option to modify the rights / permissions for this group.
Listed under the tab 'Assigned' are all the rights that have been assigned to that group. In front, the rights have a checkbox which allows one or more rights to be selected and then subsequently removed by clicking on the button ‘Remove from this group’. The removed rights are moved to the ‘Unassigned’ tab.
Under the tab 'Unassigned' are all rights that are not assigned to the group in question. These rights also have check boxes, which in the same way as above, can be selected and assigned to the relevant usergroup by clicking on the button 'Assign to this group’.
A user can be added to multiple usergroups. User groups are ‘stackable’. The following applies:
Is a right is assigned only to group 1 and not to group 2, and a user belongs to group 1 as well as group 2, then the right is assigned to the relevant user even though group 2 does not have the right. In other words, a right determines what a user can do but a right does not determine what a user is not allowed to do.
Entity and Action rights
Entity rights grant the right to use Action rights. An Entity right is the ‘basic right’ to which an Action right can be added. Action rights do not work without the correct Entity right. View the ‘Rights’ page for a complete overview of all rights and associated descriptions.
An example: the right to delete a booking from the admin panel is only allowed when the user belongs to a group containing both the Action right 'action_booking_delete' and the Entity right 'entity_booking_delete'.
Categories
To simplify working with rights, category lines have been added. These category lines provide more insight into the many available rights. A category can be seen as a number of rights that (can) belong together.
At the top of a set of rights you will find the category line. Selecting the checkbox of a category line automatically selects all rights belonging to that category. The line itself does not have rights.
