How do I create a new booking?
There are several possibilities for creating a new booking:
- From the 'Booking' menu via 'Create booking'
- From the 'Booking' menu via 'New via calendar'
- Via the button '+New booking' in the booking filter
- Via the button '+New booking' in the booking dashboard
- Via the action block on the customer dashboard
- Via the roster
- Via the event menu via ‘create event’
In almost all cases, when you make a new booking you end up in the wizard where you have to fill in the following parts:
- Core – In this block, select a product, date from, and possibly (depending on the mode used) a time from/till and the number of places.
- Price and Availability – Click on the 'refresh' icon to see if there is availability for this date/time.
- Optional – If options and participants are used, they can be selected in this block.
- Final – In this block, select a customer that you want to link to the booking. There is also the option to create a new customer here.
- Remarks – There is also an option to specify comments or remarks.
Save the booking (subject to availability) by clicking ‘Save’. Thereafter you will be directed to the dashboard of the booking, where you can make further changes.
New via the calendar
If the administrator has the correct rights, a booking can also be made via the ‘booking’ menu by clicking on the sub-men 'New via calendar'. The advantage here, is that the availability can be seen directly on the calendar. It is a simple way to make a booking and the same steps are taken as when a customer makes a booking through the calendar via the booking dialog. This method can be used, for example, by an employee who does not have much knowledge of the admin panel.
New via the roster
If the administrator has the correct rights, a booking can also be made via the ‘booking’ menu by clicking on the sub-men 'Roster'. The advantage here, is that you can simply click and drag a booking directly onto an available position on the roster. When you release the mouse, a ‘new booking’ window opens so that you may select the product, time period and add remarks. Click ‘save’ to close the window. If you click into the block you have just added, handy icons appear to the side which allow you to edit or delete the booking, link it to a customer or even take you to the dashboard of that booking.
Make a dummy booking
An administrator can adjust the availability by means of a dummy booking. A dummy booking blocks off a period so that no more bookings can be make for the period in question. The dummy booking can be make via the ‘booking’ menu and via the roster. The booking is given the status '99-DUMMY' and is not linked to a customer. Should the number of participants be the leading factor for bookings, the dummy booking will not require participants to be specified. Instead, the participants are directly booked off.v
If your environment makes use of ‘event’ functionality, then we recommend making new bookings via the event roster or the dashboard of the event, instead of via the ‘Booking – new booking’ menu.
