How do I let a customer confirm a booking by email?
As an optional step in the workflow, you can let the customer confirm (or reject) a booking themselves via a link in an email. This step can be built into the workflow at any point.
Preparation
- In Booking status codes, configure an accept status (and optionally reject/cancel statuses) and a target status for the status concerned.
- Under Templates, create an email template containing the acceptance link, via the {ACCEPTLINK} variable.
How it works
- The email is sent (automatically or manually) from the admin panel.
- The customer clicks the acceptance link and lands on the confirmation page. There the customer can choose Accept, Cancel or Reject, and optionally leave a remark.
- After the choice, the booking status is changed to the configured target status. A remark, if entered, appears under Remarks (internal) on the booking dashboard.
The confirmation page can only be reached via the special link, and that link is only valid as long as the booking status has not changed since the moment of sending. If the booking has meanwhile been moved to a different status, the customer no longer has access to the page.
