Description
With this right the user may refund money on a booking. This is possible in two places:
- the Refund button next to a payment in the payments block;
- the Refund deposit button next to the deposit in the booking details block.
For a payment made through a payment provider the amount really goes back to the customer. In the dialog you choose the amount, the payments to refund on and optionally a new status for the booking. Without this right both buttons are hidden, and the action is refused when it is called in any other way. You also need to be allowed to update the booking.
Checking and settling refunds after a cancellation is not covered by this right: that is what action_cancelrefund_override and action_cancelrefund_reset are for.
Related
This right was added in IRES-14410. Before that, the right to update the booking was enough. On upgrade every group holding entity_booking_update_all, entity_booking_update_own / entity_booking_update_owngroup receives this right automatically, so nothing changes for existing users. To restrict refunds, remove the right from the relevant groups after the upgrade.
The same change made deleting a payment stricter: it now requires the right to update the booking, just like adding or editing a payment. Before, read access was enough.
