Customer/company dashboard > Simple view > Custom fields

In the simple view of a customer or company dashboard, all custom fields are shown together in one section called Custom fields. If you have many of them, you can spread them over sections of your own, each with its own name, so that what belongs together is shown together.

Example

A rental company keeps eight custom fields on its companies. It splits them into two sections: Contract (contract number, term, notice period) and Internal (account manager, credit limit). The remaining fields stay visible under Custom fields.

Setting up the sections

  1. Open the dashboard of a customer or a company in the simple view.
  2. Expand the Custom fields section and click the gear icon next to the pencil.
  3. Click Add section, give the section a name and choose the fields it should show.
  4. Repeat this for every section. The bin icon removes a section.
  5. Click Save. The dashboard reloads with the new layout.

Good to know

  • The layout applies to the whole licence: everyone sees the same sections. Customers and companies each have a layout of their own.
  • Fields you do not put in any section stay under Custom fields, so a field never disappears from the screen.
  • A field appears in one section only. A section without fields is not saved.
  • A section name is one free text and is shown the same in every language.
  • Which custom fields exist is set up under Forms (customer form or company form).
  • The gear icon is only shown with the right menu_config_cust_forms (customers) or menu_config_comp_forms (companies).
