Getting started with reports!
Reports give you structured insight into your business data: revenue, occupancy, how busy specific days are, where your bookings come from and how much gets cancelled. That is how you spot trends and bottlenecks — under-occupancy during peak hours, falling revenue on certain days — as well as what is going well.
i-Reserve offers a range of ready-made report types for this. You pick a type, set how it calculates, and run it as often as you like. Below you create your first report.
Note: this requires the rights menu_report (the Reports menu) and report_manage_report (the Manage reports screen).
Click Reports in the sidebar. Open the Views menu at the top right and choose Manage reports. That screen lists every report you own or that is shared with you, each with a settings button, the share status, and buttons to copy, delete or open it.
Click Add report. You get a card overview of all available report types, with a search box above it. Click the card you want, give the report a recognisable name and confirm with Add report. The type is fixed after that; if you want the same report with different settings, create a second report or use the copy button. Which type answers which question is described in Which report type should I choose?.
Click Settings behind your new report in the list. Here you decide the context, whether you group by day, week or month, which value is counted, on which date the figures count and whether you compare against the previous period or last year. Every setting is explained in Report settings.
Open the report through the Reports menu. At the top is a search bar with the same search fields as in a filter: set the period or a product there, for instance, and click Run report. You get a chart with the table below it; click a cell to open the underlying bookings in a new tab. The save button stores your search with the report. Searching works exactly as in a filter: see How do I search in a filter?.
Happy with it? Export the result to Excel, CSV or PDF with the export button, or have the report mail itself on a schedule: see Have a report emailed automatically. Want colleagues to see the report in their menu too? Share it: see Share a report with users.
